Financial Management in a Recession:
This is a critical moment for the U.S. economy. To survive and thrive, cooperatives need:

• An understanding of current economic reality - what, exactly, is going on in the economy and how we got here;
• An understanding of the strategies and resources, both public and private, currently available to sustain cooperatives in this difficult time; and
• An understanding of what additional resources would be most helpful and a strategy to create them.

The Summit will bring together key cooperative actors and economic experts to accomplish two goals:

• First, to help individual cooperatives craft immediate business strategies and build alliances to better carry them out in the current marketplace and,
• Second, to begin to work together to put cooperatives at the table as federal, state, and local governments gather new resources and determine new strategies to rescue our economy and build our future.
